Is an OHC mandatory for our factory?
Under Section 45 of the Factories Act, 1948, a factory employing 500 or more workers must have an Occupational Health Centre (OHC) with a full-time Medical Officer. Factories with 250–499 workers require an OHC with a part-time Medical Officer. Even below these thresholds, annual periodic health examinations are mandatory for workers in hazardous processes (Schedule 1 occupations). Non-compliance can result in fines, license cancellation, and personal criminal liability for the factory occupier.
Can you manage health check-ups for multiple factory locations?
Yes. We manage multi-location programs across India. Each location gets its own collection schedule and reporting, but all data flows into a single OHS dashboard that your central HR team can access. Pricing is per location, negotiated as part of a group agreement.
How disruptive is an on-site health camp to our operations?
Minimal. A typical on-site camp for 100–200 employees takes 4–6 hours with our team of phlebotomists. We work in shifts to match your factory schedule — if you run a 3-shift plant, we collect from each shift at the start of their day before breakfast. We bring all equipment, setup takes 20 minutes, and we leave no mess. Most of our clients report zero operational impact.
What is the OHS Software and how is it priced?
The SVASTHO OHS Software is a cloud-based platform for managing employee health records, compliance tracking, and statutory report generation. It's included at no extra charge for companies running annual health programs through SVASTHO with 200+ employees. For standalone software licensing, pricing is based on employee count — contact our corporate team for a quote. There is no per-user seat fee; it's priced per total employee headcount per year.
How do you handle employee medical data privacy?
Medical records are stored with role-based access: HR administrators see aggregate compliance data, not individual medical values. Individual health reports are accessible only to the employee and their treating physician. No medical data is shared with employers without explicit written consent from the employee, in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Bill and medical ethics guidelines. All data is stored on Indian servers.
Can you also handle contract and casual workers?
Yes. Contract and casual workers are legally required to be covered under the same occupational health norms as regular employees in most states. We have specific programs designed for high-turnover contract workforces — including quick-turnaround pre-employment medicals (within 24 hours) and simplified check-up packages appropriate for contract roles.
What happens if a factory inspector asks for medical records?
If you're on SVASTHO's managed program, you can generate all required documents from the OHS dashboard in minutes — Form 7 (Medical Examination Register), Form 17 (Health Register), fitness certificates, and referral records. Everything is pre-formatted to meet factory inspector requirements. We also provide a compliance summary report that shows all examinations conducted in the current cycle, which is often enough to satisfy an inspection without pulling individual files.
